Chiefs v Wasps start time changed to avoid England clash

The Round 10 Aviva Premiership Rugby fixture between Exeter Chiefs and London Wasps on Saturday 1st December at Sandy Park Stadium, previously scheduled to kick-off at 3pm, will now kick off at 5.30pm. This change is at the request of Exeter Chiefs to avoid a clash with the Autumn International at Twickenham between England and New Zealand.

Businesses beware... rates delay could affect you

The Government has announced their intention to postpone the next business rates revaluation by two years to 1 April 2017. The reason given is to provide stability and avoid unexpected hikes in business rates bills. There has been no prior indication or consultation of this announcement.

Despite the Government's stated aim, businesses should be extremely concerned at this decision as the implications are far wider than has been announced.

Inaugural St Thomas Community Festival planned for 2013

The inaugural St Thomas Community Festival will take place in and around St Thomas Pleasure Grounds on Saturday 14th September 2013. The festival is the brainchild of the recently formed St Thomas Community Association (STCA) and is intended to be a celebration of the St Thomas area as a vibrant, diverse and exciting part of the city.

The organisers hope that the event will build community cohesion, bringing together residents of all ages and backgrounds in a celebration of the variety of sporting, creative and musical talents that flourish in the area.

Exeter theatre takes award-winning Bunnies to London

The Bike Shed Theatre in Exeter has been awarded Arts Council funding to tour to Bristol, Salisbury and London.

The award-winning play Bunnies – which will tour from the end of October – was written specially for the Bike Shed by young playwright Kieran Lynn. It was first performed in the Theatre last year and received a Peter Brook Empty Space Award.

The tour will help the Bike Shed develop links with other venues and national companies, raising their profile across the country.

John Lewis Exeter gets off to a flying start

Shoppers from Exeter and the surrounding areas celebrated as John Lewis opened the doors to its first shop in Devon on Friday 12th October. Within hours of opening, thousands of customers descended on the new shop, the retailer’s first flexible full line department store.

Tickets for Exeter City's League Two clash with Plymouth Argyle at St James Park on Saturday 15th December (midday) are now on sale to priority members only. Each member will be allowed to purchase 2 tickets.

Season Ticket holders can buy an additional two as their season ticket already includes a ticket for this game. To comply with security the club must be able to track every ticket to an individual who is known to the club and so all sales must be made via its ticketing partners Ticketzone.
