Construction works will start on the new Recycling Centre for Sidmouth, Ottery St. Mary and surrounding villages in February.
The new site is just to the south of the existing facility at Woods Farm, near the Bowd on the C808 Ottery St Mary road.
The new centre will replace the old, existing facility which is now inadequate for modern demands.

A vast wildlife haven is to be created at the former Meeth Quarry, a 150-hectare site recently purchased by the Devon Wildlife Trust thanks to funding from Viridor Credits Environmental Company and generous individual donors. Peter Campion, aged 87, was last seen on Saturday 26th January 2013 at his home address in Efford in Plymouth. However, he has not been seen since Saturday and may not be in possession of his medication.
He is described as white, 5ft 7ins tall, with blue eyes, grey short hair and is usually clean shaven. He is thought to be wearing a suit or blazer with a trilby hat.
He is known to frequent hospitals across the South West and may have given a different name.
