Jack Yeandle admitted some tough internal talking helped to get the Exeter Chiefs back to winning ways with victory over London Welsh in the Aviva Premiership on Saturday.

Without a win in their five previous top flight fixtures, the Chiefs responded in fine fashion as they ran in five tries during a dominant 47-16 display against the Exiles at Sandy Park.

Exeter Chiefs' Rob Baxter spoke of his delight as he watched his side return to winning ways in the Aviva Premiership with a powerful 47-16 demolition of visiting London Welsh at Sandy Park.

Hot air balloon tragedy kills 19 in Luxor, Egypt

A hot air balloon exploded on Tuesday morning and plunged into a sugar cane field west of Luxor, Egypt killing 19 tourists on board, three of which are reported to be from the UK with a further in hospital.

Luxor governor, Ezzat Saad reported the casualties included British, French, Belgian, Hungarian and Japanese nationals and nine tourists from Hong Kong.

Three survivors of the crash were hospitalised.

The balloon was reported to have hit a high pressure electrical cable and a cylinder on board explosion. Eye witnesses reported people jumped out of the balloon...

Exeter City's Elliott Chamberlain to spend a month at Bath

Exeter City forward Elliott Chamberlain has joined Bath City on a month-long loan deal.

Chamberlain, whose wages at St James Park are paid by the 1931 Fund (a group of supporters who every year opt to fund a players’ wages), has been progressing well in training, and now has the opportunity to play more first-team football over the next four weeks with the Romans. New county Labour leader puts focus on growth

Ahead of the forthcoming Devon County Council Elections on Thursday 2 May 2013, Councillor Richard Westlake was unanimously elected as the new Leader of the Devon County Council Labour Group, which is hopeful of making gains this year.

The county Labour Group will shortly be launching their new Manifesto “A Fair Deal For Devon” and are looking to field a full slate of 62 candidates across the county to maximise support against the Con-Dem Coalition.

Car collides with horse on the A380 on Telegraph Hill

Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue were called to a road traffic collision on the A380, Telegraph Hill near to Ideford this morning.

One fire appliance was despatched to the incident from Exeter Danes Castle and one from Exeter Middlemoor.

On arrival crews found a single vehicle that had been involved in a collision with a horse. Fire crews report that nobody was trapped within the vehicle. Several horses were on the carriageway and were being looked after by police, whilst the casualties were being cared for by paramedics.

Royal visit celebrates Exeter Cathedral's successful £8 million fundraising campaign

The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall are visiting Exeter Cathedral later today for a special thanksgiving service to celebrate the success of its £8 million fundraising campaign. The Prince is Patron of the campaign and visited the Cathedral in 2009 to mark the half way stage. The Duchess of Cornwall joined thousands of other visitors last July to view the ‘Majesty’ Flower Festival as part of the Cathedral’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
