Newtown Community Association is gearing up for an Art Café, which will take place this Sunday, 9 June at the main hut in Belmont Park from 2pm-4pm.
As well as a painting activity with Exeter Scrapstore, there will be live music mostly from young string player 'The J Strings' – which is the St James School string group – Exeter Young Strings, and also a young string band will be doing a few tunes.
After that, there will be an open session for anyone to play a few tunes.

The event offers either a 55- or 100-mile cycle from Topsham Rugby Club to Tiverton. The 100-mile ride heads up to Dulverton and over the top of Exmoor, down to South Molton and then meets up with the 55-mile cyclists. What led you to volunteer for WESC Foundation?
I had been toying with the idea of volunteering for about four years before I took action to make it happen.
I was talking to a friend about her son who has attended WESC Foundation for the past ten years and met him on a sponsored walk and had such a lovely time in his company that I decided to enquire whether I could use some of my spare time and skills to help at WESC.
