Princesshay hosts wheelchair relay for Ataxia UK

Princesshay plays host to the first wheelchair relay on Sunday 13 October from 11am in aid of Ataxia UK – the Lord Mayor’s nominated charity for 2013 and 2014. Seven wheelchair users aided by friends and family will take part in the relay.

Ataxia is the term used to describe a group of neurological conditions that gradually attack the brain. Most ataxias are progressive and cause problems with balance, coordination and speech and at the moment there is no cure. Two lorries involved in collision on the A30 near Okehampton

Update at 12pm: Road is now fully open.

Reported earlier today: One lane remains closed on the A30 near Okehampton after two lorries collided at around 6.10am on Thursday 10 October.

The drivers of both drivers were taken to hospital; both are believed to have leg injuries which are not thought to be life threatening or life changing.

The collision occurred between the B3260 turning and Sourton Cross, westbound. Police say the recovery of the vehicles is underway.
