What an incredible year at the increasingly popular skydiving school located in South West near Honiton.

The weather has been so good to the local adrenaline junkies this summer, that they have decided to give something back.

Jumping from 15,000ft from the UK’s fastest jump plane is no longer a challenge for experienced skydivers but doing the same for charity wearing just underwear is a different story!

The 35 strong team have already raised over £3,000 which is being split between Breast Cancer Care and Prostate Cancer UK.

Devon and Cornwall Police urged to end child detentions

Five children are locked up overnight in Devon and Cornwall Police cells each week, figures obtained by the Howard League for Penal Reform reveal today (14 October).

Exeter's X Factor contestant saved by judges after shock 'Flash Vote' result

Following the revelation that Shelley Smith, the bubbly single mum and X Factor contestant from Farringdon, Exeter, was going to have to do battle in a sing-off due to the newly established 'Flash Vote', shell-shocked Shelley told Dermot O'Leary on Saturday night: “I’m just going to sing my little heart out and try my best, that’s all I can do. And sing her little heart out she did, with a powerful rendition of Jennifer Hudson's One Night Only, a song in which she could display the versitility of her voice.

A wonderful story of a young boy growing up in the Andalusían countryside just before the Spanish Civil War throws his life into chaos, this staging of Toro! Toro! , produced by Poonamallee Productions in association with Exeter Northcott Theatre, is not only fascinating for its historical context but also for its overall articulation of ethical and moral dilemmas. The dramatic effect of the one-man production is striking.

Gary Turner does a fantastic job, his enthralling portrayal of young Antonito bringing both laughter and sadness, and his Spanish accent remaining believable...
