Exeter Council consider parking freeze

Exeter City Council will decide if to freeze its parking charges over the next year at the council executive next week. (26 November)

The City Council is also looking at the possibility of trialling some special offers in selected car parks in the run up to Christmas.

£300,000 funding for Restorative Justice

Devon and Cornwall police are to get £300,000 from the government to increase the practice of Restorative Justice as a punishment for some crimes.

Tony Hogg, the Police & Crime Commissioner will be given the funding over the next two years (£114,535 in 2013-14 and £185,000 in 2014-15).

Mr Hogg said: “Restorative justice is in some ways a simple subject and in some ways a complex subject. At the simple end it is a form of mediation, it can be employed in schools. At the upper end it’s more complex; it’s an interaction between victims and the perpetrators.

Make sure you are eligible to vote

People living in Exeter are being urged to complete their electoral registration forms so that they can vote in next year’s elections. Over 52,000 forms went out to all homes in the city at the beginning of October and need to be returned to the City Council as soon as possible. Exeter School named in Best School's Guide

Exeter School has been named as one of the UK’s best schools on the Sunday Times Best Schools Guide.

The school came 81st on the league table list of 425 independent schools in the UK.

The rating came from the schools exam results which saw over 80% of its students get A* or A at GCSE and over 83% get A* to B in A-levels.

Children In Need Fundraising Total Announced

After the cosy day on Friday spent in our pyjamas, the total we raised is in, £110.55! Thanks to all who ate cake, had their hair done, played ping pong and guessed the baby photos. Our staff were once so adorable weren’t they?
