An exciting exhibition, which will showcase contemporary artists’ interpretations of the classic Tarot de Marseille deck of cards, is due to begin on Friday (24th January).

Tarot playing cards first came onto the scene in the 15th century, with different cards being interpreted as offering a different fortune or meaning.

The artists featuring at The Exeter Phoenix exhibition all chose a different card and made a piece of art following from their own individual interpretation.

Heavy fog disrupts Exeter travel

Heavy fog is casuing delays on the M5 between Exminster and Exeter this morning.

The met office has issued a yellow weather warning predicting the fog to remain for much of the morning.

The Met Office's Chief Forecaster said: "Fog patches will affect some parts of the yellow area as early as Monday evening. However, there is potential for fog to become more widespread overnight and into Tuesday morning. Some places within the yellow area will not see fog, but where it forms it could be locally dense with visibility falling below 200 metres.

A new headteacher has been appointed at St Peters School in Exeter.

She is Rachel Hutchinson, who is currently vice principal of King Edward VI Community College in Totnes. Mrs Hutchinson will take up her new post after the Easter holidays. The risk of extreme versions of the El Niño weather phenomenon will double over the coming decades due to global warming, new research has shown.

The frequency of ‘extreme El Niños’ could see a twofold increase as the eastern equatorial Pacific Ocean warms faster than the surrounding regions.
