Otter Brewery has opened its first pub and restaurant in the heart of Exeter.

Located in Cathedral Close, ‘The Holt – Exeter’ promises wood fired pizzas, a wide range of Otter’s ales and lagers, as well as a signature seasonal menu brimming with local ingredients.

Kaleb Cooper, star of Clarkson’s Farm on Prime Video and now a prominent UK farming advocate, is set to make his first appearance at the Devon County Show 2025.

Kaleb will visit the showground between 1pm and 4pm on the second day of the Show, Friday 16th May. During his time at the show, Kaleb will tour the Farming Zone, judge a Young Farmer’s Class, and conduct a question-and-answer session in the Young Farmer’s Marquee.

New High Sheriff of Devon declared

Devon’s new High Sheriff has been declared at a ceremony in Exeter Cathedral on Friday (28 March).

Caroline Harlow, 70, who lives in Exeter, is a trustee of Devon Community Foundation and member of the Independent Monitoring Board at Channings Wood Prison.

Her service to her community across many years brought her attention to the often hidden and devastating harms caused by gambling addiction. She will be dedicating her year as High Sheriff to getting people in Devon talking about the issue and supporting those with gambling addiction going through the prison system....

A Cranbrook gas engineer has been named ‘Delivery Hero of the Year’ at an industry-leading awards ceremony.

Ryan McBride, who works at online electrical retailer AO’s Exeter outbase, scooped the prize at the annual Retail Week Awards, which is recognised as a benchmark of excellence in the retail sector.

Ryan won the award for his dedication to customer service, after coming in on days off during the festive period, to cover illness and ensure that customers had their appliances in time for Christmas Day.

Peter Jewell, the Honorary Patron and founding donor of The Bill Douglas Cinema Museum, has passed away at the age of 90.

Together Peter and his great friend, the renowned filmmaker Bill Douglas, put together an amazing collection of 50,000 artefacts on the history of cinema and the moving image.
