Knit yourself a merry little Christmas at Arlington Court

A colourful giant knitted Christmas tree has graced the main staircase hall of Arlington Court in Devon.

Complete with Knitted baubles & presents it was originally knitted in 2005 to raise money for charity, the tree contains the work of over 1000 volunteers from across the world who helped to knit it. The tree has been on display in various other locations, but this is the first time it has been displayed in a historic house. Exeter School goes Mo mad for Everyman Appeal

Exeter School staff and pupils have raised almost £1,000 for charity by growing or wearing moustaches for Movember.

County council welcomes A303/A30 investment

Devon County Council has welcomed the Government's announcement of a £2 billion investment in roads in the South West.

Years of campaigning for a “whole route improvement” of the A303 by a partnership of local authorities, including Devon County Council, have been recognised in today’s (Monday 1 December) Roads Investment Strategy.

The Government has confirmed that the full A303 corridor – including the A358 from the Ilminster roundabout to Taunton and the A303/A30 to Honiton – will be upgraded to transform the route into an “Expressway to the South West”.

Family pay tribute to man killed in collision

Police are appealing for witnesses and information after a fatal road traffic collision on the B3180 near Daisy Mount, Ottery St Mary on Monday 24 November 24.

The incident happened shortly before 10pm on Monday when a blue Ford Mondeo car was involved in a collision with a male pedestrian outside of the West Hill Nursery.

The pedestrian, who died at the scene following the collision, has been named by police as Robert James Mullen, 42, from West Hill near Ottery St Mary.

Record number of flood defence repairs in Devon

After the exceptional rainfall and storms of last winter, the Environment Agency has completed a record number of repairs to flood and coastal defences across Devon and Cornwall and is urging communities to make sure they are ready if flooding happens this year.
