Family fun with woodland crafts

Education rangers from the East Devon District Council Countryside team will be running a Woodland Craft session on Tuesday 26 May between 1 and 3pm at Honiton Bottom Community Nature Reserve.

Activities on offer will include creating natural wooden jewellery, charcoal making on the camp fire, hammering plant flags and clay play.

The event is suitable for all ages, so come along for some creative fun in a beautiful green space. The nature reserve is at the junction of Honiton Bottom Road and Battishorne Way, and there are picnic tables and a natural play trail to enjoy....

The Castle Drogo Youth Panel has planned a free community open evening to celebrate Museums at Night on Friday 15 May. Enjoy the thrill of horseracing at Newton Abbot Racecourse on Tuesday 19th May.

Racing starts at 17:30, with gates opening at 15:30. The last race is at 20:30.

Tickets will be priced at £18 for the Paddock Enclosure and £12 for the Course Enclosure. Tickets will be available for purchase online until 17:00 on Monday 18th May. There will be tickets available at the gate on the day.

Cheriton Fitzpaine welcomes French visitors

Cherition Fitzpaine Twinning Association welcomed 28 visitors from their twinned village of Bonnebosq in Normandy for an action-packed weekend.

The French visitors arrived last Friday and were given a warm welcome in Cheriton Fitzpaine Parish Hall by chairman Geoff Yeandle.

On the Friday evening lively group meals hosted at various members’ homes.

On Saturday everyone went to Exmouth for a Stuart Line cruise along the River Exe, then dined at the Nutwell Lodge.
