Bat colony future to be decided at High Court

The future of a population of one of northern Europe’s most threatened wildlife species will be the focus of a High Court action in Bristol on Friday 12 June. The court granted permission for the claim to proceed in April 2014.

Exeter based couple, Austin and Sally Burn-Jones, are aiming to raise £5,000 for various charities through the St. James’s Place Foundation.

On June 5th, Austin and Sally embarked on their challenge of climbing 3 mountains in 3 days, reaching highs of 6,000 feet.

The independent Local Government Boundary Commission for England is asking people across Exeter to comment on its draft proposals for new council ward boundaries.

A nine-week public consultation on the recommendations begins today and will end on 10 August 2015. The consultation is open to anyone who wants to have their say on new council wards, ward boundaries and ward names across Exeter.

New Bishop of Crediton announced

THE next Bishop of Crediton is to be the Revd Dame Sarah Mullally, Canon Treasurer at Salisbury Cathedral.

Dame Sarah, a former nurse, had a distinguished service in the NHS before ordination, culminating in her appointment as the government’s Chief Nursing Officer for England in 1999, when she was the youngest person to be appointed to the post.

She was ordained in 2001 and served her curacy in St Saviour’s Battersea Fields, initially as a self-supporting minister. She left her post as Chief Nursing Officer in 2004 to take up full time ministry becoming a Team Rector in...

Aviva Investors have awarded ISG the contract to create a unique dining destination in the heart of Exeter. Apple has announced that starting next month, Apple Pay will be available to customers in the UK, bringing them the easy, secure and private way to pay.

Whether buying groceries, grabbing coffee, picking up lunch or taking the Tube, UK shoppers will soon be able to make many of their daily purchases with Apple Pay. SW jobs optimism among best in UK

The jobs market continues to thrive in the South West, according to Manpower, the world’s workforce experts. With an Outlook of +9%, a two point increase on last quarter, hiring intentions in the region stand well above the national average of +6%.
