Young residents and staff at the Exeter Foyer in Commercial Road invited members of the local community to don fancy dress and get involved in a mile-long final fun-run around Exeter Quay this month to mark the end of the Foyer Health Action Project.
The three-month fitness initiative aims to educate 16-21 year-olds living in supported accommodation on the importance of health, fitness and living a well-balanced life-style. The project was organised by Foyer operator Stonewater, one of the UK’s leading housing providers.

Police in South Devon are appealing for information following a sexual assault on a bus.
The incident occurred between 8.30pm and 8.45pm on Thursday 23rd April whilst the victim, a 17 year old female travelled on a No.12 Stagecoach bus, between Paignton and Newton Abbot.
When the bus stopped at the Arcades near to Fleet Walk, Torquay, an unidentified man was talking to the driver. As the bus continued its journey between Torquay and Newton Abbot, the victim sat upstairs at the very front of the bus when she was joined by this man.

Police in Newton Abbot are appealing for information following a burglary in Kingskerswell where a sentimental watch was stolen.
The burglary occurred sometime between Thursday 2nd April and Saturday 4th April at a property in Park Road, Kingskerswell.
Entry was gained by smashing a conservatory window, and once inside and following a search a number of jewellery items were stolen including rings and watches.
Amongst the items stolen was a rose gold pocket watch, (similar pictured) which had a ‘T’ bar chain attached to it.

A blind veteran from Exeter will celebrate Blind Veterans UK’s 100 year anniversary at a special garden party at Buckingham Palace on 4 June.
John Evans, 60, will be visiting the palace with more than 1,000 other veterans helped by Blind Veterans UK, to mark the military charity’s 100 years of proud service and support to blind and vision-impaired ex-Service men and women.
