A local digital marketing specialist has extended his work in the film and television industry having worked with Paul Zanders, a leading sound recordist in the UK.

Powered Now raises £575k on Crowdcube

Award-winning app developer, Powered Now has closed its second equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube, raising £574,770.

Powered Now surpassed its initial target of £350,000 by 64% and this amount ensured Crowdcube was the first equity crowdfunding platform to smash the £100 million investment milestone. A total of 353 people invested for a 16.5% equity share of the company with stakes ranging from £10 up to the largest single investment of £50,000. The ratio of male to female investors is 7:1 (13% female).

Researchers from the University of Exeter are seeking participants for a trial into whether certain types of food could prevent depression.

Experiencing depression often goes hand in hand with being overweight. The MoodFood trial will compare different nutritional and lifestyle strategies that might change mood and wellbeing in people with a higher than average body mass index (BMI).

Child injured in quad bike collision

Police are appealing for witnesses after a child was injured when a quad bike overturned in Holsworthy at the weekend.

The mini quad bike was being ridden by a four-year-old girl from the local area, with family members walking alongside, when the incident happened at around 5.30pm on Sunday 27 September.

They were on the public footway, which leads from Bodmin Street over the River Deer, heading in the Bude direction, when the quad bike collided with the verge and wall of the viaduct bridge and overturned onto the four-year-old child.
