Man's body found on S Devon coast

The body of a man reported missing has been discovered off the coast of Salcombe early this morning (18th September).

A 51-year-old Kingsbridge man who is believed to have gone fishing early on Thursday (17th Spetember) was reported missing at around midnight. A search was launched with the involvement of the Coastguard and the helicopter from Chivenor.

A body was disciovered near Gara Rock at around 3.20am and was later taken to Derriford. Family have been informed and formal identifdication of the body has taken place.

Four sailors rescued from Exe

Four people were rescued from the Rive Exe in fading light after their boat began to sink.

Exmouth lifeboat was launched at 7.40pm yesterday and on arrival at the scene found the sailing crew up to their waists clinging to sinking boat near Topsham.

They were assisted by local police officers.

All of the sailors arrived safely back on land.

1,320 kids to race through Exeter streets

A record number of 1,320 primary school pupils across Exeter are set to take to the stage, and complete their own half marathon challenge as part of Exeter’s Great West Run Schools’ Challenge, taking place on Sunday 18 October 2015. Exeter schoolchildren celebrate RWC 2015

Rugby excitement gripped school children today with just one day until the start of the Rugby World Cup 2015. Primary aged children had their very own spectacular and colourful rugby world cup relay festival to mark the start of the tournament. The main festival site was at West Exe School but the fun wasn't only there!
