Two dogs die in Devon fire

Two dogs have died and two people suffered the effects of breathing in smoke in a fire at a Devon home.

Two appliances from Okehampton were dispatched to Crediton Road in the town at 4.22am.

Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and a safety jet to extinguish the fire. They also used a Positive Pressure Ventilation fan to clear the smoke that had filled the living areas and roof space of the property.

An ambulance was requested to treat two adults suffering smoke inhalation.

Fun day planned as FORCE shop comes of age

The award-winning FORCE Cancer Charity shop in Heavitree celebrates its 21st birthday on April 24 and will mark its coming of age with a day of festivities.

On Saturday April 23 there will be special offers throughout the store, a bake sale from 11am and a raffle.

Housing market outlook softens post buy-to-let boom
