BBC Radio 1 and BBC Learning reveal more ways to get hold of free tickets to this year’s Big Weekend. One pair of Big Weekend Tickets is on offer every day at BBC Radio 1’s Academy between Tuesday 17th and Saturday 21st May at Exeter Phoenix. Academy ticket holders must be in the Academy’s Hangout and enter the live draw at the end of each day’s Academy activities. Killerton ran its first ever BioBlitz event on Saturday 7 May to survey the historic parkland for all sorts of wildlife. BioBlitzes are an innovative kind of outdoors event that bring together experts and volunteers, as well as families.

Pilot injured after plane crashes into field

A pilot has been injured after his plane came down in an East Devon field.

Emergency services were called to the incident just before 11am this morning (Friday 13 May) near Branscombe airfield.

The pilot was the sole occupant of the plane and was treated for leg and back injuries after the crash.

Two fire appliances from Sidmouth and the heavy rescue vehicle from Middlemoor also attended the scene, after receiving reports from the ambulance service that a light aircraft had come down in the field.

The music of Mozart will echo around the Cathedral later this year in the latest concert performance by our renowned choir, which takes place on Saturday 18th June at 19.30.

The Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust has been recognised nationally for its commitment to the armed forces.
