Exeter Junior School pupils were thrilled to discover that their approach to a national art project would be included in The National Gallery and visited the London art gallery to see their work on display.
The budding Year 6 artists worked on the Take One Picture Project, creating artwork in response to a painting from The National Gallery during the autumn term.
Every year, The National Gallery invites primary schools to use one of its paintings as the stimulus for learning right across the curriculum. For 2016, Thomas Gainsborough's Mr and Mrs Andrews was chosen as the...
Then go along to Exeter College on Monday 20th June at 6pm for a pilot recording for a TV idea.
Comedian and author Tony Hawks (Q.I. Radio 4’s Just A Minute and I’m sorry I haven’t a Clue, author of Round Ireland With A Fridge) will be trying out his new and extremely silly quiz/game show called “Let’s Consult The Bucket”. Come and be a part of the live audience.
The show will not be broadcast – it is simply a tester to see if it works. Either way – fun is guaranteed – along with prizes for some of the audience.
The show will involve a good measure of audience...
A technology firm in Devon and Cornwall is helping to keep a publicly-funded life-saving air ambulance going. ITEC, based in Exeter, Plymouth and Redruth, is now providing IT support for Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust (CAAT) following a rigorous tendering process. The essential back-up ensures vital computer communications remain robust, enabling the charitable trust to raise the money to fund the helicopter’s 700 missions a year. CAAT, which receives no taxpayers' money or National Lottery grants, relies on fundraising to raise the £3 million needed annually to keep the lifesaving...
A 400% rise in wipes on beaches is putting marine life at risk – and pushing up your bills, it was warned today.
We all love a wet wipe! Wipe the baby’s bum, get rid of the make-up and cleanse, slap on the fake tan –our bathrooms are full of them. But instead of ending up in the bin when they’re finished with – millions are being popped down the pan because of consumer confusion.
That’s because some are labelled flushable, some biodegradable and some need you to read every bit of the small print which most of us can’t be bothered to do. But the truth is, even those labelled...
