Chilcotts Auctioneers has recently invested in a new set of stylish corporate clothing for the auction house team.

The updated workwear range includes quilted and fleece gilets and jackets, shirts, blouses and polos. All are in the established blue colours of the Honiton business, and branded with embroidered logos.

New fly tipping powers approved by East Devon’s Cabinet

New powers to crack down on fly tippers who blight areas of East Devon have been approved by the district council’s Cabinet.

It means that offenders who irresponsibly fly tip their waste, can be issued with a fixed penalty notice of £400. The new controls will be used by council officers to deal with small, medium and large fly tipping offences by householders or unauthorised “man and a van” operations. Work to start on road safety improvements in Tiverton

Work on road safety improvements on Blundell’s Road in Tiverton will get underway on Monday 4 July.

The £1.1 million scheme will introduce a series of traffic-calming measures to reduce speeds and make it easier for pedestrians to cross the road.

Dog rescued after 150ft cliff fall

A dog has been rescued after falling 150ft down a cliff in Devon.

The RSPCA were called on Thursday (June 23) by some local ‘coasteerers’ who had seen the dog in a cove at the bottom of cliffs in Noss Mayo.The charity liaised with the Coastguard to ensure nine-year-old Jack was rescued as quickly and safely as possible.

The dog's owners, who are from Ludlow in Shropshire, are on holiday in North Tawton, North Devon, and lost Jack while walking on the South Devon coast path on Wednesday (June 22).

Property agent predicts 'stable' market despite Brexit

A respected Exeter businessman has reacted to Britain's decision to leave the EU.

Property agent, Roger Wilkinson, said he felt 'for those business and individuals who are more affected by the uncertainty that will undoubtedly result in the European and global economies in the immediate short term'.

But he also assured those who might be worried about the effects on the property market.

Police continue to investigate baby's death

Devon and Cornwall police are continuing to investigating the death on an 8-month-old boy in Brownhills Road, Newton Abbot on 15th June.

Post mortem and toxicology reports have not identified a cause of death and therefore the death remains unexplained.

A 27-year-old man was questioned and bailed in connection with this matter. We can confirm that in light of the post mortem and toxicology reports, his bail has now been cancelled and no further policing action will be taken against him at this time.

Walk-in Centre opening hours to be reduced

The opening hours of the walk-in centre (WIC) at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital are to be reduced from Monday 27 June.

The walk-in centre is run by Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust (NDHT).

The WIC is currently open from 7am to 10pm, seven days a week.

From 27 June it will be open from 11am to 7pm, Monday to Friday. There will be no change to opening times at the weekend, when it will continue to be open from 7am to 10pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Recent recruitment efforts have been successful and the Trust hopes to return the service to normal opening...
