ViewRanger have created a new app featuring a collection of walks for people to forage for their own food.

The outdoor discovery app illustrates some of the best routes in the UK for fresh wild food, focusing on Dartmoor.

Rainbow Run moves to Westpoint

Following the success of this year’s Children’s Hospice South West’s Exeter Rainbow Run, the charity is delighted to announce that the 2017 run will now take place at the Westpoint Arena!

Jayne Jarrett, events fundraiser at the hospice said: ‘We were overwhelmed with the local support for our 2016 run with nearly 1700 people taking part, and we’re so excited that we will be holding next year’s event at Westpoint Arena.

Exeter Chiefs will have a stylish and vibrant new look inspired by the Northern Lights when they take to the field for their exploits in cup competitions this season.

Substantial cannabis seizure in Axminster

Police have arrested a man after a substantial cannabis seizure in Axminster.

Officers were called to the former Axe Vale Social club, in Chard Street, after reports of a strong smell of cannabis in the area.

The officers attended the address around 7.30 pm on Thursday 7 July and arrested a 27 year old man on suspicion of production of the class B drug.

The cannabis was spread over three floors, and due to the extensive amount of equipment and plants found a specialist team of officers will go back to seize the material.

Hunt continues for escaped lynx

Police are continuing to assist Dartmoor Zoological Park staff in the search for a two year old male Carpathian lynx which escaped from its enclosure overnight between Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th July 2016.

The lynx is a wild cat approximately the size of a Labrador. If members of the public sight it they should call 999 immediately quoting log 252 of 7th July 2016. The animal should not be approached as it could be dangerous if alarmed or cornered.

The lynx is believed to be on farm land outside the boundary of the park following a sighting by a member of park staff....

Three arrested after drugs raid in Exeter

Police have arrested three men after executing two warrants in Exeter.

At around 5.30pm on Thursday 7th July local officers, assisted by the force’s specialist support group, executed two simultaneous warrants at two flats in Kinnerton Way, Exeter.

The warrants were executed under the Misuse of Drugs Act and followed earlier information received.

The three men arrested are all from Exeter and were all arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs. Two of the men are aged 20 while the third is aged 19. All three remain in police custody...
