The Point reaches halfway stage

Buyer interest is high in The Point, Exmouth as the building frame reaches the halfway stage.

Over 35 people attended a special preview event for The Point. They were treated to the first view of a special interactive video showing how the apartments will look when completed.

The steel frame rising on the quayside at Exmouth has now reached the 10 metre or 3rd storey level with completion of the 14 waterside apartments scheduled for the end of the year.

Bendene Hotel, located in Exeter city centre, has been successfully sold by specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co.

The event will take place in Torquays Princess Theatre at 7.30pm on 27 August.

Thank You For the Music celebrates 40 years of Dancing Queen

The world’s longest-running ABBA concert show is coming to Torquay to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Swedish super group’s biggest selling hit, Dancing Queen.

The event will take place on 27 August 7.30pm at Torquay’s Princess Theatre.

The song was a million-selling, number-one hit in 13 countries and it forms the climax to the international hit stage show Thank You for the Music.

The production, which also features the UK’s most successful Bee Gees revue, is now in its 23rd year.

Lord Mayor's charity concert announced

In celebration of its 170th anniversary season, Exeter Philharmonic Choir has announced the city’s first ever Lord Mayor’s Concert to be performed at Exeter Cathedral on October 22.

It will feature popular choral oratorio, Handel’s ‘Messiah’, which includes the well-known Hallelujah chorus.

The choir’s Director of Music, Andrew Millington said: “We’re delighted to be working with the Lord Mayor’s office to make this event a celebration of the wonderful city of Exeter.

A fifth of Exeter workers confess to working in Pyjamas

Office dress-codes go out of the window when it comes to working from home, with nearly a fifth of Exeter’s workforce confessing to working in their pyjamas.

Workplace provider Regus asked 3000 professionals in the UK about home working habits, and results showed an anything goes attitude when away from work colleagues. Exeter respondents showed a relaxed attitude to the home working business day with 19 percent working for some of the time in their pyjamas, and 16 percent even confessing to conducting business in their underwear.

Patients rate cancer care highly at RD&E

Patients treated for cancer at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital have highly rated the level of care they received in the 2015 National Cancer Patient Experience Survey.

In its fifth year, the NHS England National Cancer Patient Experience Survey is designed to monitor national progress on cancer care, to drive forward quality improvements, and to inform the work of groups supporting patients. Organisations are rated as being ‘lower’, ‘within’ or ‘higher’ than an expected range.
