Stamps. Foreign coins. Postcards. All may seem worthless at first sight. But they can in fact be invaluable sources of fundraising.
Consider the case of former policeman Tony Coop who has been volunteering for over 23 years raising over £260,000 his local hospice, Hospiscare, by collecting just these very things.
Tony’s heartwarming story demonstrates how collecting stamps, coins and postcards can help Hospiscare. It begins, as is so often the case with a personal story of kindness from the charity:
“It goes back to 1992/3 when Jill’s mum had cancer we had two...
From ancient Korea and now to the east of Melbourne, Australia, the martial art of Soo Bahk Do has an unlikely fan group – older Australian women. Every week on a Monday, a group of Australian ladies in their sixties meet up at a hall in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Rather than meeting up for a game of bingo, or to play a round of bowls, these women have a much more active activity in store for them – they’re students of Soo Bahk Do.
Soo Bahk Do was brought to Australia around forty years ago, and literally translates to ‘the way of the striking hand’. And unlike some of the...
Ollie Watkins scored the only goal of the game as Exeter City beat Championship side Burton Albion 1-0 in a pre-season friendly at St James Park.
Watkins, who found himself some space in the Brewers penalty area, struck a smart finish high into the near corner to leave Burton goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin with little chance of getting a hand to it.
In a game of few clear cut chances City kept up their impressive pre-season record with an assured performance against Nigel Clough’s men, who fielded a strong side, making the victory all the more impressive for Grecians boss Paul...

Exeter City are back in pre-season action as Paul Tisdale’s side welcome Burton Albion to St James Park.
The Sky Bet League Two club are currently fine-tuning their preparations for the season, which kicks off with a long trip to Blackpool on August 3, and the Grecians go into this warm up tie following four consecutive pre-season wins.
The club have just returned from a short spell in Cornwall, which featured two victories over Bodmin Town and Truro City, but will now take on a Burton Albion side who are currently preparing for a season in the Championship.
Paul Tisdale, Exeter City’s manager, has conceded the side who started the game against Bristol Rovers on Saturday will be very similar to the starting XI he will choose for the opening game of the season on August 6th against Blackpool.
Exeter we're hevily tipped by http://www.accumulatortips.org.uk/ and they put on an impressive first half display at the weekend with goals from Ryan Harley and Ollie Watkins taking City into the break 2-0 ahead against Darrell Clarke’s Rovers. 4-4-2 was the preferred formation with goalscorer Watkins partnering the newly transferred Robbie Simpson...

Businesses and individuals across Exeter will soon be able to apply for their very own blue Twitter tick as the social media giant begins rolling out a new scheme.

Verified status is displayed by the reputable blue tick that appears next to a Twitter profile. Previously, Twitter verification was only granted to public figures who were deemed to be of public interest, but soon anyone will be able to apply, providing they tick all of the boxes. The...
