Chiefs side to face Wasps

Rob Baxter insists his Exeter Chiefs side are in “good nick” ahead of their seasonal opener against Wasps in the Aviva Premiership on Sunday (3pm).

Runners-up last season, the Chiefs head for a testing away-day at the Ricoh Arena looking to lay down a solid foundation from which to attack the 2016/17 season.

An unbeaten pre-season programme – which saw the Devon club record victories over Guinness Pro12 sides Scarlets, Ulster and Newport-Gwent Dragons – have given a solid enough base from which to build, but Baxter knows the hard work starts this weekend, up against a...

Now is a good time to apply for an allotment in Exeter, the City Council has said.

Waiting times for allotments in Exeter are at their lowest levels for many years and plots are becoming available at sites across the city.

Since the City Council changed the way it manages allotments more people than ever have been able to enjoy tending to their own plot.

The reduction has been down to a quicker turnaround of vacant sites and the dividing up...

Exeter City win 5 goal thriller!

Goals from Robbie Simpson, Ollie Watkins and Joel Grant secured Exeter City all three points on their trip to Colchester United. Liam McAlinden and Connor Riley-Lowe also dropped out of the team, while new loan signings Luke Croll and Jack Stacey took their place in the side. They were joined by the recalled Jordan Moore-Taylor and...

New service to help East Devon residents recycle more to be phased in

A trailblazing new service to help East Devon residents recycle more of their waste than ever before will be phased in across the district from February next year.

For the first time, the district’s 68,000 households will be able to recycle cardboard, mixed plastics and Tetra Paks which will be collected every week from the kerbside; alongside the extensive list of items residents can already recycle. The new additions mean householders are able to recycle more, throw away less rubbish and put East Devon at the very forefront of environmental sustainability.

Examples of new...

I reassured her that it was, made her a cuppa and introduced her to our friends from the Exeter Foodbank team who run a Friday session at our...
