Further weekend closure of Bridge Road

A further weekend closure of Bridge Road in Exeter will be needed later this month as part of the ongoing widening scheme.

The road will be closed to traffic from 10pm on Friday 23 September until 5am on Monday 26 September as the improvements continue.

During the closure, metal safety fences will be erected in two locations on the east side of the road, and new surfacing will be laid over the Exe Flood Relief structure.

This should enable the traffic layout to be amended when the road re-opens on Monday morning so the new lanes for traffic coming off the Canal...

Devon based logistics business, Gregory Distribution Limited (GDL) will be using National Lorry Week (19-24 September) to recruit the next generation into the transport industry by staging two impressive vehicle displays in and around Exeter later this month.

SIGHT loss is costing the UK economy £28billion annually[i], a report from the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) and Specsavers has revealed.

The Mammal Society has been working with 52 other wildlife organisations to present the clearest picture to date of the status of our native species across land and sea.

The report reveals that over half (56%) of UK species studied have declined since 1970, while more than one in ten (1,199 species) of the nearly 8000 species assessed in the UK are under threat of disappearing altogether. Pupils swap pens and pads for pedal power

Pupils from Teignbridge schools have been keeping fit and swapping desks for bikes as part of a programme of activities geared up for the Tour of Britain’s visit to the district.

Funded by Teignbridge District Council, independent cycle trainer Martin Burrows visited youngsters from Teign School and Coombeshead Academy in the lead up to the Devon stage of the Tour. New Bus Station plans move forward

Plans for a new Exeter Bus Station have moved forward after councillors formally backed progress on the design of the project.

Councillors approved the work of the Project Design Team and agreed to proceed to the next stage and tender process, during a meeting at the civic centre.
