With less than a month to go to this year’s Flaming Tar Barrels spectacular, Otter Nurseries is reminding revellers to be prepared when it comes to parking on the night.

As usual, the garden centre is opening its car park for visitors to the event in Ottery St Mary on Saturday, November 5.

Bumper apple crop ready for Killerton’s Cider and Apple Festival

This year a bumper crop of apples are expected to be harvested in time for the annual Killerton Cider and Apple Festival on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 October.

A team from temporary power specialist ide Systems will be taking on the Royal Marines Commando Challenge in Devon on Saturday (October 8).

The challenge, which takes place in Yettington, Woodbury Common, is a six-mile endurance course that raises money for The Royal Marines Charity and the Devon Air Ambulance Trust. Ramblers help bring new bridge to Dartmoor

Walkers following the popular Two Moors Way across Dartmoor can now enjoy an easier crossing of the river Teign at Frenchbeer, Chagford thanks to a generous donation from a local walking group.

Moorland Ramblers provided a £300 donation to Dartmoor National Park Authority to help fund the cost of the replacement bridge following winter storms. The work was co-ordinated by National Park Ranger Pete Rich, with assistance from local farmers and contractor Allan Tyson of SW Countryside Contracts.
