A host of your favourite regular vinyl and CD dealers from the South West along with returning dealers.

With all the dealers having masses of good quality Vinyl Records, CDs and much more to choose from and following on from the success of the last fair, it should be another good event for everyone.

Doors open at 9.30am, entry is £1. For the earlybirds entry can be from 8am with a £3 fee. The fair finishes at around 3.30pm.

Tisdale up for manager of the month award

Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale has been nominated for the League Two manager-of-the-month award having led the Grecians to three wins and a draw from their four games in December.

The City manager, now in his 11th season at St James Park, started the month off with a 3-1 win in tough conditions at Cheltenham Town and followed it up with an impressive 2-0 win at home against an in-form Mansfield Town.

Another good defensive display saw City pick up a 0-0 draw at Yeovil Town on Boxing Day and they saw 2016 out in style winning 4-1 at Newport County – taking their goals for...

Luke Cowan-Dickie hailed Exeter Chiefs’ fighting spirit after they emerged with a dramatic New Year’s Eve victory at Bath.

Trailing 11-0 following a disappointing first half at the Recreation Ground, Rob Baxter’s side were much improved during the second period, initially reducing the deficit with a Gareth Steenson penalty, before two late converted tries from James Short sealed a first-ever league win in the Roman City for the Devon club.

The victory not only maintained Exeter’s impressive run of form in the Aviva Premiership, but also allowed them to leapfrog their hosts...

Young Farmers gain places on 2017 travel scholarships

The Devon Federation of Young Farmers Clubs recently held their travel interviews which saw over 40 members from across the county apply for the 2017 scholarships. The members completed application forms and attended interviews at the Devon Young Farmers centre in Exeter.

Extended thanks to the interviewers; Marion Cann, Neil Grills, Clare Edworthy, Chris Berry, Faye Heal and Mark Davis who have all previously been members of Devon YFC and travelled on the scholarship programme.

City law firm supports art initiative

A NEW initiative, which features artwork created by people living with dementia, has received support from legal firm Cartridges Law.

The company will be displaying work from local creative workshop Budding Friends in the foyer of its Cowick Street offices, in support of Age UK Exeter and dementia care in the local community.

The exhibition was launched at a private viewing with some of the artists, their family and friends, as well as the firm’s private client and reception teams. Everyone is invited to drop in and see the colourful displays.

New kit for Devon gymnastics club

Teign View Gymnastics Club in Devon is celebrating after receiving a new balancing beam extender.

The kit was presented to members of the team by electricity company Western Power Distribution (WPD).

Tom Halfyard, who works for the company and whose daughter is part of the team, said: “This is such a generous donation and it will mean a lot to the members of the club.”

Over 50 members of staff from Devon law firm Wollen Michelmore have been recognised with long service awards at the annual Christmas party held in Torquay.

With an impressive 1,182 years of service between them, the 53 staff was presented with individual recognition pins, a gift of their choice and a monetary gift voucher to mark their continuous service delivering excellent service to many hundreds of clients across the region.

Business confidence surges in SW

Business confidence has increased in the South West but economic uncertainty remains the biggest threat to firms, according to the latest Business in Britain report from Lloyds Bank. The report’s confidence index - an average of respondents’ expected sales, orders and profits over the next six months – increased to 17 per cent, up from four per cent, the survey’s score in September 2016. The South West’s confidence boost is the largest increase in the country, followed by London and the South East.
