Unique pilot programme reducing waiting list for spinal surgery in Devon

The NHS in Devon has reduced the number of patients waiting a long time for spinal surgery by nearly 80% between May 2023 and January 2024 by revolutionising the approach to caring for patients.

The number of patients in Devon waiting 78 weeks or more for spinal surgical treatment was 31 at the end of January 2024. This is 79% lower than May 2023 when that number stood at 131.

ITV today confirms the new Head of News for ITV West Country will be Nimesh Joshi, who is currently Programme and Digital Editor at ITV Central.

Volunteers who give up their time to tackle crime in their communities and ensure police custody suites are up to standard have been thanked by Devon and Cornwall’s Police and Crime Commissioner and Acting Chief Constable.

The Heart of the South West LEP has announced £118,000 funding for the Centre for Future Clean Mobility, to develop a new AI engineering lab.
