Top 40 accountants Bishop Fleming have appointed Paul Seymour as their new Marketing Director.

Mr. Seymour, who joins the firm from Bond Dickinson LLP, will be responsible for all aspects of the firm's marketing strategy and will take on the leadership of the CRM, digital, brand and marketing team.

Daily crosswords linked to sharper brain in later life

The more regularly people report doing word puzzles such as crosswords, the better their brain function in later life, a large-scale and robust online trial has found.

Experts at the University of Exeter Medical School and Kings College London analysed data from more than 17,000 healthy people aged 50 and over, submitted in an online trial. In research presented at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference (AAIC) 2017, the team asked participants how frequently they played word puzzles such as crosswords.

Green Flag Awards for University of Exeter campuses

The University of Exeter has won Green Flag Awards for its picturesque and eco-friendly campuses.

Judges renewed the Green Flag status of the St Luke’s Campus for 2017-18, saying it was “well managed and maintained” by “enthusiastic” staff.

The Streatham Campus also had its award renewed, though it is in a “mystery shop” year when an inspector visits unannounced, and no judges’ comments are available yet.

We are a group of young people from the Exeter area raising money and awareness for the amazing charity Children's Hospice South West.

As we are all part of the charitable organisation National Citezen Service we have gone through weeks of team building exercises and planning the best way to raise money and awareness for our chosen chairty.

Together we decided to work to support the chairty CHSW as they "provide respite and end of life care to make the most of short & precious lives".

Teignbridge residents will soon be able to enjoy a vast, new 65-acre countryside park – about the same size as 26 rugby pitches – at Dawlish.

Teignbridge District Council will celebrate the opening of the new Dawlish Countryside Park on the outskirts of Dawlish near Sainsbury’s, on Sunday 3 September by putting on a free event for the whole community. “A Family Day Where Dogs Can Play!” will be a fun-packed day for all ages to enjoy, whether or not you have a dog to bring with you.
