A new facility that will offer storage of physical remains from ancient humans, animals, and plants to help ease the pressure on museum archives that are running out of space is to be established at the University of Exeter.

The Biocultural Heritage Information in a Virtual Environment (HIVE) facility will offer secure storage of scientifically important materials and create a new database of digital 3D files and analytical data to preserve the record of materials subjected to scientific destructive analyses.

Cumberland Grange care home, in Exeter has thrown a party for residents, friends and families to celebrate 3 years of serving the local community.

Staff, residents and guests commemorated this special occasion with live music, photo booth pictures with props, a delicious buffet and to top it all off, a visit from a talented local magician who “blew everyone’s minds”. A local youth football club has received a £1,000 donation from one of the leading developers behind the Cranbrook expansion scheme.

Persimmon Homes South West handed over the cheque to Cranbrook United Youth FC at its playing fields, with the funds going towards new kits for players, which will be emblazoned with the company’s logo.
