Animals at Paignton Zoo will be getting their own festive dinners this Christmas – but you may not find them quite as appetising as your own…

Archaeologists unearth possible evidence of early Neolithic farming communities

New evidence potentially left by Dartmoor’s earliest farming communities 5,500 years ago has been uncovered by archaeologists at two of the moor's most enigmatic sites. A series of previously unknown features including postholes and circular structures have been discovered at the tor enclosure sites of White Tor and Dewerstone. One of the most exciting discoveries at Dewerstone (pictured) is the recovery of charcoal suitable for radiocarbon dating. Results are awaited but, if proved, could conclusively show people occupied these sites in the early Neolithic period - around 3,500BC....

CARERS working for a homecare provider in south Devon are helping prevent the county’s elderly from starving (December 2019).

Guardian Homecare says there is a common misconception that people naturally lose weight as they get older.

Low income families across Devon have been receiving food hampers this past weekend, thanks to a church in Exeter.

Rediscover Church based in Northernhay Street, put together 250 hampers, thanks to generous donations from its own congregation members and partner charities including Fairshare.

The hampers were packed with a range of food including pasta, rice, sauces, biscuits, Christmas puddings, mince pies. beans, soup and more to support a range of people through the Christmas period, a time where money can be particularly tight. The church were also grateful to Nandos...
