Over two nights in December, the voices of Exeter Philharmonic Choir will be joined by well-known historian Dr Todd Gray, adding a historical note to the choir’s popular Carols in the Cathedral.

Dr Gray is compering the concerts at Exeter Cathedral on Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th December, blending the festive music with his own reflections on Devon Christmases, past and present.

An Exeter-based Help for Heroes nurse has paid tribute to her ‘wonderful’ colleagues after receiving a national nursing award.

Janine Whitley, 46 who served in the Navy for 25 years and saw four tours of Afghanistan, has worked as a Veterans Clinical Advisor across Bristol, Somerset, Devon, Dorset, and Cornwall, since 2021.

An Exeter charity has appealed for the public’s support as it aims to win top prize in a national competition, enabling significant improvements to its services.

SAFE Foundation is one of 12 finalists from around the UK in the hunt for £5,000 in Selco Builders Warehouse’s Community Heroes competition, which attracted nearly 2,000 entries.

A public vote is open until November 30 to decide this year’s champion, while there is also £1,000 up for grabs for the runner-up.
