Community comes together at Exeter's Quayside in support of Hospiscare
The 2026 Michelmores 5K Charity Run returned to Exeter's historic Quayside last night (Thursday 10 September), bringing together runners, supporters and volunteers from across the South West to raise vital funds for Hospiscare, Michelmores' Exeter and Sidmouth charity partner.
Marking the 25th anniversary of the Michelmores 5K Charity Run, this year's event once again welcomed participants of all ages and abilities, with businesses, families, friends and running clubs coming together to support an important local cause. Over the past 25 years, the event has raised more than £400,000 for charitable organisations across the region.
Hospiscare provides compassionate end-of-life care and support to people living with life-limiting illnesses across Exeter, central and east Devon, as well as their loved ones. Its mission is to help people live as well as possible, for as long as possible, with dignity, comfort and compassion.
Hosted by former Exeter Chiefs rugby player Chris Bentley, participants took on the scenic Quayside route while supporters lined the course to cheer runners on and create a fantastic atmosphere throughout the evening.
All funds raised through this year's event will support Hospiscare's vital work across Exeter, central and east Devon, helping the charity continue to provide specialist care and support to patients and their families when they need it most. Michelmores would like to thank everyone who took part, volunteered, sponsored or supported the event and helped make this special anniversary event another memorable success.
