This Christmas, the team at Crave Exeter are swapping their own festive lunches for aprons and community spirit, opening the restaurant’s doors on Christmas Day (10am–2pm) to welcome anyone looking for company, conversation or simply somewhere warm to celebrate.

In the true spirit of giving, Crave will be serving a free light buffet including barbecue breakfast baps, pizza slices, chicken wings, cakes and brownies. Guests will also receive a complimentary mulled wine on arrival, with any additional drinks available to purchase from the bar. While the food is free, Crave is encouraging guests to make a minimum £5 donation, with all proceeds going directly to Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) via on-site donation buckets.

Around five members of the Crave team have volunteered to give up their Christmas Day to make the event possible. After hosting the initiative last year to great success and seeing how much it helped bring the community together, they’re doing it again,  with hopes of providing that connection and great food to anyone spending the day alone, or those simply wanting to pop in for a friendly drink on the Quay.

“Christmas can be a difficult day for many people,” says Sameer Shetty, Owner of Crave. “We wanted to open our doors and do something small but meaningful, offering a place to connect, share a drink and raise money for a brilliant local charity at the same time.”

Everyone is welcome - whether you are dropping by after a Christmas walk, staying for food or joining in for a chat and a mulled wine, the Crave team would love to see you there.
