Crate company brings children’s drawings to life in time for Father’s Day
We've all stuck our children's drawings on pin boards, on the wall and even on the fridge, but inevitably they end up dog-eared and stained and slowly walking to the bin.
Now, thanks to Westcountry company Plantabox, tatty remnants of your children's art work can be a thing of the past.
The Devon-based company makes personalised crates for weddings, anniversaries and birthdays. This year the company has cracked the personalisation market by printing children's drawings on the side of apple crates – just in time for Father's Day (Sunday June 16).
The process is simple. The template can be downloaded from Plantabox's website and filled with your children's artwork before being posted back to the company and printed onto a crate.
Plantabox director and dad Martin Humphries said: “Personalised gifts exist in abundance – cufflinks, beer glasses and key rings – but nothing matches up to having something that has been created and crafted especially for you by your children or grandchildren.
“It's a huge step to get a child's drawing onto a crate. It's the most exciting, most innovative thing we have ever done – it gives the power of personalisation to someone else. It's a powerful sentiment and I think most fathers will be blown away.”
The crates can be used for almost anything including storing gadgets or tools, displaying treasured collections or growing chilli plants. Prices start at £29.95.
