The highly influential Employment Law Conference takes place at Sandy Park on Thursday 8 November and, in addition to an authoritative update on employment regulation and an examination of the legal pitfalls of social media, there is to be a Question Time-style ‘Big Debate.

Chaired by Michelmores Associate James Baker, the guest panel, which will be answering questions from the floor, comprises Ben Williams, the in-house Counsel for Virgin Atlantic, Nick Sprague, CEO of Cobell Limited, Nigel Costley, Regional Secretary of the TUC and Michelmores partner Nikki Duncan, a member of the Law Society’s Employment Law Committee.

The key legal issue facing charities are the subject of a seminar to be held at Woodwater House on Thursday 15 November where the focus will be on investments, property, and human resources. Key speakers include Heléna Holt, CEO of Devon Air Ambulance Trust and Richard Pike of Brewin Dolphin.

The second ‘Talking Shop’ annual Michelmores Retail Conference takes place at Sandy Park on Tuesday 4 December when speakers include Andrew Jones of ‘Big Four’ accountants Deloittes, Karime Hassan, Strategic Director at Exeter City Council and John Ashton of Clarks.

Michelmores Marketing Director, Louise Edwards, said: “The Autumn conference and seminar programme is quite intense but is also very well supported.  The employment law and retail conferences have become established as sector leading events and,  although there is still some capacity, each is attended by over 100 professionals and industry decision-makers.”
