While the online gaming market is fragmented by major companies that are focusing on maintaining and growing their presence, there has been some “wriggle room” for small, independent studios to break through into this highly lucrative market with impressive intellectual property.

We can't wait to show the world what we're up to

The global gaming market is expected to be worth $545 billion by 2028, growing at 13.20% between now and then, according to the report "Gaming Market Size, Share & Forecast 2021-2028" by Fortune Business Insights.

The major players, including Microsoft, Nintendo, and Nvidia are proactively investing in R&D activities to develop engaging online video games, while independents are adopting organic and inorganic strategies to try and earn a “slice of the pie” and contribute to the growth of the market.

UK studio Glowmade, based in Guildford, has signed a deal with Amazon Games to join its third-party publishing efforts with a new project based on an original IP. Glowmade’s credits include “Fable'', “Little Big Planet”, “Battlefield”, and “Horizon Zero Dawn”, which are available along with other best deals.

In a blog post, Glowmade says it is aiming to reinvent how people play, connect, and share their stories by developing inspirational games which spread joy and empower creativity, and “Amazon Games shares in our ambition to create bold new experiences that foster community in and around games.”

The 25-strong company said its team is growing rapidly now and they are looking for more talented developers to join the “wonderful little studio”. Applicants are invited to browse the jobs section of Glowmade’s website.

Amazon Games says it has also been looking for talented individuals who specialise in a variety of disciplines to help develop new projects and has thrown positions open on Amazon Jobs. “Glowmade is a team of seasoned developers with the right creativity and experience to make games players will love,” said Christoph Hartmann, VP, Amazon Games, in a joint press release.

"The Glowmade team has been working incredibly hard on our exciting new IP, and Amazon Games has been a great partner,” said Jonny Hopper, Glowmade studio head “The Amazon Games team’s commitment to helping us deliver on our creative vision has been amazing. We can't wait to show the world what we're up to.”
