Head on down to Exmouth’s Queen’s Drive Space for live theatre, film nights and music
Exmouth’s new Queen’s Drive Space events area will take on a distinctly Russian theme on Saturday (June 23) with a live performance of The Cherry Orchard which is being staged by the Miracle Theatre Company.
The production is the second in a series of theatre and music events on the new site this summer and the venue is already proving to be very popular with people of all ages.
Last week more than 250 people enjoyed Swan Lake which was streamed live to a big screen in the events area from the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.
Queen’s Drive Space opened less than a month ago and features a Jurassic-themed play park, a food and drink village run by Taste of the West, and the new events space which promises a wide range of activities throughout the summer including live theatre, film nights, circus skills workshops and music events.
Miracle Theatre, who are staging this weekend’s The Cherry Orchard, are one of the most inventive theatre companies in the South West and they started their tour of Chekhov’s famous play in mid-June.

The cost of the tickets are: Adults, £14; Under 26, £11; Over 65’s/registered disabled/benefit recipient, £11; Under 16’s, £8; Family (two adults and two children under 16), £40.
You can hire a deckchair for the evening for £2 or bring your own chair and perhaps a blanket for those chilly nights. Local pub chain Oddfellows provide the on-site bar, which will remain open for all of the shows and live screenings. Please do not bring your own alcohol onto the Queen’s Drive Space site.

Councillor Philip Skinner, Deputy Leader of East Devon District Council and Chairman of the Exmouth Regeneration Board, said he was delighted with the response to the Queen’s Drive Space area.
