Saks Exeter celebrate one year anniversary with award recognition

Saks, dubbed the UK’s favourite hair business, opened its first ever salon in Exeter’s Princesshay in February 2012. Now a year old, Saks has gone from an 8 member team of locals including hair stylists, technicians and apprentices, to an award winning 16 strong team of local hair specialists trained by Saks and L’Oreal.

Since opening Saks has become well known for their friendly staff, community spirit and company ethos - to transform the way their customers look and feel, each and every day. This ethos has secured more than 3500 new customers in their opening year as well as a SAKs national award for local marketing initiatives – the Saks Marketing Award 2012. With over 100 Saks salons across the UK, this is a testament to owner Eleanor Winkler and her Exeter team.

Ellie Winkler, Owner of SAKS Exeter says: “What a busy year it has been at Saks Exeter. The team and I have had a great time and have been overwhelmed by the positive response from customers. Being a local salon, we like to support local initiatives, charities and other local businesses – it is what makes us part of the Exeter community. The whole team has worked incredibly hard and we are proud to receive national recognition for doing what we love to do!”

Since opening in February 2012, Saks have established themselves in the local community by hosting an official charity launch party raising over £2500 for the Paediatric Oncology Unit at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, styled hair at various charity events and taken part in Princesshay events including the Face of Princesshay competition and Ladies Day.
