Buy a used car from the comfort of your home
Forget trudging from one hectic dealership to another – you can now buy a car from the comfort of your own home.
Online used car dealership, Carspring has officially launched in Exeter, enabling users to get a used vehicle delivered from their very own, dedicated page.
The new site offers flexible finance, a 14-day money-back guarantee and doorstep delivery within the Exeter area.
The company’s launch in the city reflects Carspring’s exponential development from a disruptive startup to a growth stage company in just a year.
What’s more, the site’s owners claim that by buying a used car with Carspring, saves on average £1,000 as opposed to buying their used car elsewhere.
The online dealership is currently on track to sell 3,000 cars per year with that number doubling every few months.
Co-founder at Carspring, Maximilian Vollenbroich, sees the Exeter launch as an integral part of the company’s drive to bridge an e-commerce gap, yet to be dominated by a universally-known player.
He said: “The Exeter launch is a big moment for everyone at Carspring. We’ve been operating across the UK on very much a beta basis, but with the launch of our dedicated Exeter site, we’re showing Exeter and the good people of Devon that we’re here and it’s time for traditional dealerships to up their game or get out of the fast lane.
"Right across the board, every sector is going online. Old conversion barriers relating to issues around trust are being broken down, as e-commerce proves its salt as a convenient and trustworthy alternative.
"If I want a book delivered, I go on Amazon. If I want to get my groceries delivered, I go to Ocado, and now, with our official Exeter launch, we're opening up a genuine, online alternative to the people of the Exeter and the wider South Devonshire area to buy their car online.
“In Exeter, there’s a real feeling the city is opening up to the digital revolution. We think our online alternative makes a lot of sense in more rural parts of the UK, such as Devon. You don’t have to buy a car at the mercy of whatever is on offer at your local dealership. It’s an exciting launch. We’re backing Exeter, it’s a great place to business. It always has been, it always will be.”
It seems the shift online is one from which no market is immune, even when it comes to high-ticket purchases. And, as far as items on your shopping list go, buying a car is typically the second highest-value item you’ll purchase in your life after your home.
Founded in February 2015, Carspring is an online used car dealership, based in both London and Berlin.
