Roundtable summit on airport expansion
Exeter Chamber and Devon & Cornwall Business Council hosted a roundtable meeting with local business leaders and Let Britain Fly.
The meeting was a roundtable summit which explored and examined how a new runway in London and the South East could deliver benefits to every corner of the UK with a special focus on the South West.
In December the government confirmed its intention to build a new runway in London and the South East, but delayed making a final decision on the location for another six months while it carries out further environmental analysis.
One of the most compelling arguments for a new runway is not only the benefits it would bring the UK in terms of expanding our international connectivity with new markets, but also the benefits it would bring our domestic connectivity – providing additional links to the South West, North, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
The discussion also influenced Let Britain Fly’s campaign message and approach going forwards.
Hosting the event was law firm, Foot Anstey, who provided refreshments and a meeting facility for the discussion.
