Detectives from British Transport Police have released the CCTV image of a man officers would like to speak to after a 14-year-old girl was assaulted at Exmouth station.

The incident happened on Sunday 13 July, as the girl travelled between Exeter and Exmouth.

Detective Constable Dean Jeffery said: “During the journey the man engaged the girl in conversation and, when the train arrived at Exmouth, he walked with her towards the bus station and touched her inappropriately.

“The girl managed to run away and alert the authorities.”

Following the incident officers have conducted a number of enquiries and have managed to isolate the CCTV image of a man officers would like to speak to.

DC Jeffery added: “I am confident the man in the CCTV has vital information about the incident and I call on anyone who recognises him, or who has information about the incident, to come forward.”
