Katie's TV career in doubt after 'vile' tweet
Uncertainty has been cast over the future TV career of outspoken Exeter media personality Katie Hopkins following a petition calling for her to be banned from any future appearances.
The uproar follows a tweet in the aftermath of last week's tragic helicopter crash in which the 38-year-old wrote : "Life expectancy in Scotland based 07/08 birth is 59.5. Goodness me. That lot will do anything to avoid working until retirement."
Although Katie says she was referring to an NHS report, prompted tems of thousands of people to sign an online petition calling for her to be banned from all television programmes and interviews.
The petition, which over 85,000 have signed, read: "On the 30th of November 2013, Scotland was still in shock and trying to come to terms with a horrible crash that took the lives of innocent people. Within 24 hours of this happening Katie Hopkins posted vile remarks on Twitter about how long the people of Scotland live for. ‘We the undersigned are sick and tired of ITV and Channel 5 giving her airtime and want her banned from all TV shows on your channels."
Soon after, ITV issued a statement which said: "We have no plans for Katie Hopkins to appear on This Morning at this present time."
Katie landed herself in hot water on This Morning when she made comments linking children's names to class and more recently she clashed with Peaches Geldof over child rearing techniques.
