Fifth man arrested for Alphington Road murder

A 20 year-old man from Coventry has been arrested in connection with the murder of Stephen Crook.

The man who remains in police custody, is the fifth man to be arrested in the investigation.

So far four others have been charged with the murder of Crook, 43 on Alphington Road on 21 November.

They are: Steve Webster, 40 from Okehampton, Ryan singleton, 25 and Darren Twigger, 39 from Coventry and an unnamed 17 year-old boy also from Coventry.

All four are due to appear in Exeter Crown Court on 19 December.

Police began investigation after neighbours raised concerns for Crook’s safety at a property on Alphington Road.

At the scene Police found  that Crook was very badly injured and he was rushed to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.

Mr Crook later died of his injuries in the hospital.

The fifth suspect has yet to be charged with the murder of Mr Crook.
