World news: Police kill gunman who raped & kidnapped female student

Police have killed a gunman who abducted a female student on the Central Michigan University campus. According to alerts sent out on the campus at 12.20 am on thursday morning, a young female student was approached at gunpoint by a white male described as being between 20 and 30 years old.

It has been reported that the man abducted and sexually assaulted the student in his car packed with gas cans before he said he would murder her. The victim jumped from the moving car in order to escape. The Central Michigan Sheriff has stated that if she had not jumped from the car she would have died.

The abductor followed the victim to a house nearby and set it on fire before fleeing the scene. He then drove the victim's car into a state troopers vehicle before escaping in a sanitation truck that he stole. The gunman then drove into the Crawford County deputy car before being fatally shot by deputies whilst being apprehended.

The police have stated that because of this unusual incident safety measures will be enforced and warned students that America is becoming more violent. The police have confirmed that the abductor was not a student at CMU. (NewsPoint)
