Georgian Youngster Tchumbadze Becomes a Chief

Exeter Chiefs have completed the signing of young Georgian international prop, Bachuki Tchumbadze, ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The 23-year-old front rower moves to Devon to play his club rugby outside of his native Georgia for the first time in his career.

“I really enjoy English rugby, and I’m truly honoured to have the opportunity to be a key part of the Exeter Chiefs,” Tchumbadze said.

“I’m well aware of the crucial role that forwards play in the team’s system, and I’m really looking forward to making my debut in the Premiership.”

Exeter’s rising cycling star George Pym says that racing in the Tour of Britain through his home county next week will be one of the highlights of his professional career so far.

George Pym, 24, will be riding in the Tour of Britain from Sunday 2 September – Devon Stage 2, takes place on the following day on Monday 3 September.

Stage 2 will be hosted by Devon County Council and supported by East Devon District Council and North Devon Council.

A prestigious international karate seminar will come to Ottery St Mary next month, hosted by East Devon’s SYTL (Say Yes To Life) Karate Club. Residents, commuters and visitors to Barnstaple on Monday September 3 are advised to leave more time for their journey as the Tour of Britain returns to the town.

Starting in Cranbrook, East Devon, the race covers 174km (108miles) of Devon countryside before finishing in Barnstaple town centre - and large numbers of spectators are expected to visit on race day.
