Harlequins Women v Exeter Chiefs Women

Merryn Elworthy will make her 100th appearance in a Chiefs jersey as domestic women’s rugby returns with the PWR Cup on Saturday.

Having made her 99 previous appearances as Merryn Doidge, Elworthy will make her milestone appearance under her new surname following her wedding in the summer.

The 24-year-old played in her first game for Chiefs against in Gloucester-Hartpury in October 2020 after making the move to Sandy Park from Bristol Bears Women.

A Persimmon Homes employee is swapping planning consultations and applications for the challenges of road and water, after being selected to represent Great Britain at this month’s European Aquathlon Championships in Bilbao.

Ollie Thorogood, a planner in the company’s South West region, has been selected for the 1km swim and 5km run event, which will be held in the Spanish city on 23rdSeptember.

Ollie’s worked for Persimmon in its Exeter office for the past three years and qualified for the event following a number of impressive performances.

Hacking League One will be top priority for Exeter City following promotion to the division after a 10-season wait, and while survival will be a great achievement at the end of 2022-23, nothing should stop Matt Taylor's side from attempting to punch above their weights.
