Slade sticks to Devon roots with new contract

Exeter Chiefs and England centre Henry Slade has committed his future to staying in Devon, signing a new contract with the club.

The 74-cap England international this season celebrated scoring his 1,000th Chiefs point against Gloucester Rugby in round five of the Gallagher PREM. A Chief since 2011, Slade has racked up 259 appearances in all competitions.

New Exwick sports pavilion and 3G sports pitch approved

A new Exwick sports pavilion and 3G sports pitch will be built by Exeter College.

It involves demolishing changing rooms and erecting a new sports pavilion along with an ‘all-weather’ 3G pitch, at the site of an existing rugby pitch.

The city council’s planning committee unanimously approved the application on Monday [20 February]. It was initially submitted in November 2021 but received several objections, leading to a revised plan being submitted late last year.

Exeter recycling scheme reaches major £10k milestone

Exeter City Football Club (ECFC) and Exeter City Council’s innovative recycling scheme, Cans4City, has reached a major milestone.

The scheme, which encourages Exeter football fans to recycle used drink cans whilst also raising money for charity, has now raised more than £10,000 with all funds raised going towards projects and initiatives run both by the football club and its partner charity Exeter City Community Trust (ECCT).
