As Europe’s biggest stars regroup for international duty, national team rosters for Euro 2024 are filled with familiar names - few of which trace their beginnings to the lower tiers of English football.

Exeter City’s academy may not make headlines, but its graduates are making tournament squads. Having spent the past fortnight going toe-to-toe with reigning European champions RC Toulon in the Heineken Cup, it's back to the blood and thunder of the Aviva Premiership this weekend for the Exeter Chiefs, who tomorrow welcome Newcastle Falcons to Sandy Park (3pm).

After a punishing run of fixtures, both domestically and in Europe, the Chiefs will be looking not only to address a five-game losing streak, but at the same time deliver an early Christmas present to their supporters in the final home game of 2013.

Despite recent setbacks, assistant coach Ali Hepher insists...

Exeter City are at home TONIGHT for Friday Night Football

Friday-night footie returns to St James Park, as does the chance to get right back in the mix for the promotion places for Exeter City.

After a frustrating few weeks, results have finally started to pick up again with draws from trailing positions against Wycombe and Bury and a win at Accrington – and victory at home against Chesterfield, second in League 2, would certainly give a fresh wave of optimism too.

The Spireites hit their own rough patch in October – after dropping just two points in their opening eight games, Chesterfield suddenly couldn’t buy a win in the next...
