Exeter City FC partners with EX2 Group as new training wear sponsor

Exeter City Football Club has announced a new partnership with Exeter-based engineering firm EX2 Group, who will become the club’s official training wear sleeve sponsor for the upcoming 2026/27 season.

The deal marks the latest step in a growing relationship between the two organisations, which share strong ties to the city and a commitment to supporting the local community.

Grecians come out on top

Exeter City were 3-2 winners against Southend United at Roots Hall, as Eliot Richards’ first goal in City colours –in the 87th minute – capped a thoroughly entertaining affair in the Grecians’ favour.

City had gone ahead first through Jimmy Keohane, but the lead was short-lived as Mark Phillips headed the Shrimpers level two minutes later. The centre-half was on hand again to give Southend the advantage in the first period.

Scottish international Moray Low is heading to the Aviva Premiership next season after he today finalised his much-anticipated move to Exeter Chiefs.

The 29-year-old tight-head, who has penned a two-year deal at Sandy Park, will help fill the void left at the Chiefs by the departures of Hoani Tui and Craig Mitchell at the end of the season.

Low signs for the Chiefs

Scottish international Moray Low says he is “excited” about the challenge that awaits him at Exeter Chiefs next season.

The experienced 29-year-old prop will join on a two-year deal from Glasgow Warriors and is the latest name Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter has added to his ranks for the 2014/15 season.

Low follows England international Thomas Waldrom in heading for the Westcountry next term, having spent the past eight years in Glasgow where he has made made 144 appearances for the RaboDirect PRO12 side.

Exeter City Football Club say no to homophobia

Exeter City Football Club yesterday took a stand against homophobia in football at its home game with Rochdale (Saturday 22 February).

The match was designated as the Club’s annual ‘Football v Homophobia’ fixture – a move welcomed by the Exeter City Supporters’ Trust and its One Game One Community (OGOC) Group.

The OGOC Group organised a series of initiatives at the match working in partnership with the Devon Lions, the local gay friendly football club.

Young Exeter Chiefs Academy lock Will Carrick-Smith has today joined Championship side Cornish Pirates on a dual-registration agreement.

The imposing 21-year-old forward will head to the Mennaye to help alleviate an injury crisis which has robbed the Pirates of locks Neale Patrick, Gary Johnson and James Sandford in recent weeks.

Exeter School pupils selected for England U18 hockey squad

Three pupils from Exeter School have been selected for the England Under 18 hockey squad this week.

Upper sixth former Tom Poustie joins the squad for his second year along with Lower Sixth Formers Harry Skinner and Will Marsh.

They will train over the next few months as part of a squad of 24 players at the Lilleshall National Sports Centre in Shropshire, in preparation for international tournaments held in Germany and Spain at Easter and in July.
