Leicester Tigers 45 Exeter Chiefs 15

If last weekend’s LV= Cup victory marked the champagne moment for Exeter Chiefs so far this season, Rob Baxter’s side were handed a sobering thought at Welford Road as Leicester Tigers maintained their push for the Aviva Premiership play-offs with a convincing five-try performance.

Richard Cockerill’s Tigers were in ruthless mood on their return to top flight action, mauling their Devon rivals with a vintage display that reaped tries for Manu Tuilagi, Logovi’i Mulipola, Vereniki Goneva, Adam Thompstone and a brace for Frenchman David...

Chiefs side to face Tigers

Triumphant in the LV= Cup Final last weekend, Exeter Chiefs assistant coach Ali Hepher insists his side will have to replicate their efforts again over the remainder of the Aviva Premiership season.

With just six league fixtures remaining for the Devon club, the need to get themselves back amongst the division's top six clubs has taken on extra relevance in the light of their latest success story.

Buoyed by their 15-8 win over Northampton Saints in the Anglo-Welsh showpiece last Sunday, the Chiefs now travel to Leicester Tigers this weekend determined to build on the...

Exeter Chiefs skipper Dean Mumm believes he and his team-mates should use Sunday’s LV= Cup triumph as the springboard for future success at the Devon club.

The experienced Australian international led from the front at a packed Sandy Park as he helped the Chiefs to record their first major silverware in 143 years as they overcame Premiership rivals Northampton Saints 15-8.

Exeter City earn a creditable draw

Report: Newport 1 Exeter City 1

Exeter City earned a creditable draw from their trip to South Wales as their trip to Newport County AFC ended 1-1.

City had gone ahead shortly after the interval when Exiles defender Harry Worley turned Tom Nichols’ cross into his own net, but Lee Minshull forced the ball over the line from a corner just a minute later.

And ultimately a toughly-contested battle ended honours-even as all other chances went begging before the referee sounded the final whistle.

Manager Paul Tisdale made three City changes for the visit to Rodney...
