Exeter City FC partners with EX2 Group as new training wear sponsor

Exeter City Football Club has announced a new partnership with Exeter-based engineering firm EX2 Group, who will become the club’s official training wear sleeve sponsor for the upcoming 2026/27 season.

The deal marks the latest step in a growing relationship between the two organisations, which share strong ties to the city and a commitment to supporting the local community.

EX2 Group, a specialist electrical and mechanical engineering company headquartered in Exeter, is already a familiar presence at St James Park, with its branding previously displayed on the club’s...

Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter says he is looking to unleash the “huge potential” on offer in new signing Tomas Francis.

The 21-year-old prop, who has joined from Championship side London Scottish, has today put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the Aviva Premiership club and will bolster Baxter’s options in the front-row following the departures this summer of Hoani Tui (Lyon) and Craig Mitchell (Cardiff Blues).

Francis is one of two tight-heads, the other being Scottish international Moray Low, that Baxter has recruited ahead of the 2014/15 season and the Chiefs...

Francis joins the Chiefs

Newcomer Tomas Francis says he is "excited" by the challenge that awaits him next season after he today confirmed his move to the Exeter Chiefs from Championship side London Scottish.

The 21-year-old prop has agreed a two-year deal with the Aviva Premiership club and is the latest new addition brought to Sandy Park by Exeter head coach Rob Baxter.

With current tight-heads Hoani Tui and Craig Mitchell set to depart Devon at the end of the current campaign, Baxter has wasted little time in bolstering his options for the No.3 jersey having recently brought in experienced...

Devon & Exeter 5 win Devon Squash League

Devon and Exeter 5 are the surprise Division 2 winners of this season’s Devon Squash League.

The jubilant team sponsored by Knight Frank and T MAX Media managed to win Division 2 by some margin, only losing one match all season.

Proud team captain Steve Webber (who personally didn’t lose a match all season) said, “At the start of the season we thought staying in Division 2 would be an achievement but somehow we’ve managed to qualify for Division 1. I’d like to give big thanks to Adam Lings who runs the Devon & Exeter Squash & Racketball Club and of course, to all...

Middlesex Sports Foundation in Partnership With Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby

The National Governing Body for Wheelchair Rugby, GBWR, has agreed a deal with the Middlesex Sports Foundation worth £50,000 that will run for the next four years.

Rhidian Jones, Chairman of the Middlesex Sports Foundation, said: “We were all impressed by the courage and commitment of the athletes at the Paralympics in London in 2012. As a charity with assets derived from the rugby community, and focussed on aiding sport for youth and those with special needs, we considered GB Wheelchair Rugby an ideal partner with which to develop a strong relationship.”

Rest Will Do Us Good, says Tui

Prop Hoani Tui says Exeter Chiefs’ week off could not have come at a better time as they look to recharge their batteries.

The Sandy Park outfit have lost twice since lifting the LV= Cup a fortnight ago, with Saturday’s 14-13 reverse against Gloucester coming after a 45-15 defeat at Leicester Tigers.

Due to their success in the Anglo-Welsh competition, the Sandy Park players have not had a week off from matches since early August.

Most other teams had a fortnight without a game last month while the Chiefs competed in the knock-out rounds of the LV= Cup. Tui, who has...

Exeter Chiefs may face an uphill struggle in their battle to reach the top six of the Aviva Premiership, but winger Matt Jess has not given up hope of the Devon club achieving their seasonal aim.

Saturday’s narrow 14-13 loss at home against Gloucester saw Rob Baxter's side slip to ninth in the current standings, some 14 points adrift of former champions Harlequins in sixth.

With just four fixtures remaining for the Devon club - including home dates with both Sale Sharks and Harlequins who sit above them - Jess has not written off his side’s chances of muscling their way...

Honiton RFC youth teams take on Chiefs

Youth teams at Honiton RFC were given a special treat this week when they were given the chance to practice their skills with some of Exeter Chief’s finest players in a special, one-off training session. The event was organised by Exeter-based Financial Claims Management Company EMCAS, active sponsors of both clubs, who saw an opportunity to give the Honiton youth teams a unique experience, as part of helping to inspire the next generation of professional players.

Jack Nowell, fresh from his England debut, along with scrum-half Dave Lewis, back-row David Ewers, prop Luke Cowan-...

Baxter perplexed at non-penalty decision

Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter said he was "perplexed" as to why his team were not awarded a penalty try in the final minute of their Aviva Premiership encounter at home to Gloucester.

With Gloucester prop Sila Puafisi already in the sin-bin for a late hit on Chiefs playmaker Gareth Steenson, the visitors were then reduced to 13 men when fellow Tongan Sione Kalamafoni was shown yellow by referee Matt Carley for cynically killing Exeter's driving maul just inches from the line.

Although the Chiefs made the numerical advantage pay in the subsequent play as Don Armand...

Chiefs lose match by just ONE point

Exeter Chiefs 13 Gloucester 14

Often the scourge of Gloucester in previous top flight battles, the deadly right boot of Exeter Chiefs marksman Gareth Steenson was this time unable to land his side a telling blow against their Aviva Premiership rivals.

Handed the shot with the clock up, the Irishman’s last-gasp conversion drifted wide of the target and gave the visiting Cherry & Whites only their second-ever victory at Sandy Park.

In a pulsating conclusion to the contest, Gloucester saw both Sila Puafisi and Sione Kalamafoni dispatched to the sin-bin as they look...

Exeter City fall short at home

Report: Exeter City 0 Accrington 1

Exeter City’s fell to a 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Accrington Stanley at St James Park.

A fairly open first half saw Danny Coles and Stanley’s James Gray produced efforts on target, but it was the away side that took the lead in stoppage time – Kayode Odejayi taking the plaudits after forcing the ball cross the line at the end of a goalmouth scramble.

Try as they might the Grecians couldn’t find a route back into the game in the second half; James Beattie’s side leaving with a vital three points in their quest to avoid the...
